Recently, a sister asked me a question about my logo, an upside down Ankh. Although I explained the meaning in the past through face to face conversations and electronic talk, I felt the need to repost its meaning.
As many of us know the Ankh is a symbol that represents life. It also is known to have originated from our Motherland, Africa. Typically when the word “life” is referred to, we tend to think about our existence. SheKey Unlimited looks further into our existence and reflects on our current realities and circumstances that regularly exist in the world. SheKey Unlimited decided it was most appropriate to reposition the Ankh to reflect what we truly hope to accomplish, which is to become conscious. The upside down ankh represents a world of unconsciousness. Shekey shows us that through wise choices, decisions, and a life of being aware, the ankh can be turned around. For this to be done, one must make a commitment to become proactive in their community, positive in their behavior, selective in their choices, and responsible to themselves and others.
